This story reads like fiction, but isn't. It is the survival story of a woman and her family during the Civil War and the Seminole Uprising. It shows the courage of a woman who does what must be done to protect her family. The book followed closely to the history given in the tours and the church Margaret had built is still standing near the cemetery where she and her family are buried. It is a neat experience, first to read the book, then to visit the area she considered home.
