Shree Shree Ma Anandmayee (May 1, 1896 – August 27, 1982) was the manifestation of the Supreme. In 1922 at Bajitpur, on Being asked, She revealed Her true identity spontaneously as “Purna Brahma Narayan” (Narayan, the Absolute). Here was a wonderful life of mystic, full of startling incident which testify to the fact that “Truth is often stranger than fiction”, and yet she was prefection personified. She revealed the most austere spiritual pracrice as just a ‘play’ since She had nothing to achieve nor gain. Since She Prefered obscurity and willed no public focus on herself, few in recent times are familiar with the story of her earlier life. This book is an English rendering from the Bengali version of ‘Mayer Katha’, which Shri Bhaiji – an ardent devotee of Shree Shree Ma, faithfully recorded with infinite care and precision from her sayings on many occasions covering the early period of Matri Lila. It is hoped that this translation will fulfil the long-felt desire of Shree Shree Ma’s countless devotees to know more about Ma, and through Her own words, find guidance in their quest for the unknowable. While going through the pages they may also gain some idea of that unique phenomenon of our time – Shree Shree Ma Anandamayee.
