The present work is an in-depth study of the role covert and overt of the Ulama in the movement leading to the partition of the eastern part of the country in 1947. The members of the Ulama of this region moved from village to village fomenting a sense of dissatisfaction among the members of the Muslim community and encouraged them to demand a separate assembly and a representative body.
