The book's first story is Little Wolf about the smallest wolf of the pack wanting to be grown-up like her brothers and sisters. She goes on a solo journey and meets lots of different animals along the way. In the end, she returns to her pack with an understanding of how all the animals share the forest. The second story in Baby Animal Tales is Bobbi the Bear, about a bear cub who doesn't listen to her mother and goes looking for food in the snowy forest, rather than hibernating as she should. Bobbi meets some animal friends who try to help her, but runs into trouble when her mother discovers her missing. The book's last story is Ping the Panda, about a cub who enjoys eating bamboo and sleeping so much that whilst on a journey to somewhere warmer with his mother, he loses his way. He meets a friendly red panda who thinks of a great idea to help him find his mother.
