The first is about the Viscount of Terralba and his armor bearer, Kurt, as they ride across the plague - riddled plains of Bohemia to join the Christian army in the 17th century, during the Turkish wars. on the first day of battle, a Turkish soldier unhorses the viscount, who stands on the battlefield without his sword, only to be hit by a cannonball that splits him into two people. Gramo (the bad) and Buono (the good). Agilulf is a perfectionist, a righteous and faithful knight. The surprise is that he does not exist. A voice in the metal armor reverberates commands given to him during battle to fight out of faith for the holy cause. Biagio narrates the story of his brother Cosimo Piovasco Di Rondo, who belongs to a noble French family with a huge estate. Due to a fight over dinner with his sister, Cosimo decides to climb a tree and never come down, having had enough of his family and the responsibilities of being the future baron of the estate.
