There are three main video formats in use around the world:
-- (1) NTSC;
-- (2) PAL; and
-- (3) SECAM.

In brief:
-- NTSC is the video format used in USA, Canada and Japan);
-- PAL is the video format used in the Britain, Australia, New Zealand, India, Hong Kong and most of Western Europe;
-- SECAM is the video format used in France and Eastern Europe.
