Fund for Welfare of
Nepali Novelists

A fund for the welfare of Nepalese novelists will be created from the royalties of the book Rupmati. Smt. Shanti Mishra, a well-known author from Nepal, announced this. Mrs. Mishra has also translated the novel Rupmati by noted Nepali author RudraRaj Pandey.

Rupmati is among the most well-known Nepali novels. According to Lekhnath Poudyal "the blows and counterblows within the circle of a family are depicted in such an interesting way that whoever begins to read this book will not want to put it down...This book wholly embodies the ideal of reform in domestic life".

Internationally-known poet Lakshmi Prasad Devkota described Rupmati as a "joyful, instructive and inspiring book".

Rupmati is published by Book Faith India, Delhi and distributed by Pilgrims Book House, Kathmandu.
