New Society
for Promotion of Culture

VARANASI. A new society for the promotion of art and literature in Varanasi, northern India, was opened at Pilgrims Book House near Durgakund (Monkey Temple).

Mr. Ramanand Tiwari, showing his great love and close links with the city of Varanasi, has established the society for the promotion of cultural and literary activities in this city.

This society called ' PRAVAHA' was formally opened on 17th April 1999. It hopes to establish and open a museum of rare artefacts and books in the main building of the bookstore with a view to providing a place of study and research for the scholars of Varanasi.

Two prominent residents of Vanarasi, Dr. Ratnesh Verma and Dr. Bhanu Shankar Mehta, have kindly agreed to become patrons of this museum.
